Tuesday 19th October AV Open Retriever Field Trial – Bitterley, Ludlow
Spaniels
Monday 25th October AV Novice Spaniel FT Buildwas, Much Wenlock
Wednesday 17th November Novice Cocker FT Tregynon, Newtown
Friday 3rd December Open Span ex Cocker FT Leigh Manor, Minsterley.
For the Retriever trials, as a concession, due to last year’s cancellation, we have waived the Nomination Fee of £2 for this season.
Please make a note and let us know if you are able to come on any of the days to help. We need you so please step forward.
SGS have been running Novice Cocker Stakes for some years now and so it was proposed we approach the KC for permission to put on an Open qualifying Cocker Stake. This would be for the next years 2022 season. This is currently being progressed with the KC and we are hopeful it will be approved in the Autumn.
Assistant to the Field trial secretaries Jayne Cuthbert – Brown has expressed an interest in learning more about the running of events and so it is proposed that she “shadow” Paul and Grace, the FT secretaries, for this coming season. This will be a big help as she is also our nominated Covid 19 officer.
Facebook Notice
The Shropshire Gundogs Facebook Group was a “Public” group which to date meant it could be found easily but anything posted would only be seen by ourselves and friends you have nominated to see posts you make or reply to.
From June 11th Facebook policy changed and now all Public groups will become visible to anyone and anyone connected via a friends link can see all comments and reply, even non-members.
To ensure our continued security I have opted to make the group “Private”. This was effective from June 7th and means only those of us that are members of the group can post and make comments. It also means non-members cannot see content or reply to comments.
Any concerns over the change of privacy please contact us.
RESULTS
Spaniel Working Tests were held near Shrewsbury on 23rd May. Thanks to the Eyton Shoot and all those who helped on the day we are very grateful. Chief Steward and test secretary Paul Leeke kept us on track all day and Judges Steve Adams and Sarah Quinn had some very close placings. The test was run in a thick cover of white grass, it was cloudy and cool with a stiff breeze keeping the rain off until we had just finished the afternoon. Congratulations to all the winners. Raffle raised £72 for our chosen charity Midlands Air Ambulance. Sponsored by Skinners.
